Growing communities through robotics

In high school, I was an integral member of my school’s FIRST Robotics Program. Each year, the FIRST Robotics Program challenges teams of students to build washing-machine sized robots for a specific game. I was the president of the team in 2016, and was heavily involved in the design and construction of all four robots shown below. FIRST also encourages students to bring STEM to the community, teaching students that engineering is truly for everyone.

Under my leadership, the team won its first local competition and was selected to compete in the FIRST World Championships, a feat achieved by less than 20% of teams.
